Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma, Assam education, health and finance minister addressed a public gathering in Margherita where Union Home Minister Amit Shah was also present. Sharma announced that after BJP forms government in Assam, around10 lakh youths will get a job in the next 5 years.
Sharma went on to assure that in the first year itself 1 lakh youths will be employed in the government sector.
Sharma further stated that the cash benefit under the ‘Orunodoi’ scheme would be increased from Rs 830 to Rs 3000 per month.
