The Messiah takes Covid-19 jab today

Amritsar: On the occasion of World Health Day actor Sonu Sood took the first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine on Wednesday at Apollo Hospital in Amritsar, Punjab.

After Indian film celebrity like Malaika Arora, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Hema Malini, Sanjay Dutt, Rohit Shetty; Sonu is the lastest of them to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

Sonu is the brand ambassador of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign which kick started on Wednesday on the occasion of World Health Day.

Moreover, the actor also launched ‘Sanjeevani- A Short of Life’, an initiative to encourage the masses to get vaccinated against the deadly disease and raising awareness about the inoculation drive in the country.

Speaking about the initiative, Sonu said, “I wanted to start this drive because I feel it is important to bring that awareness among the people who are still thinking whether they should get vaccinated or not. Family members should push their elder ones, people who are eligible to get the vaccinated. It will only help them survive the times we are facing in the near future.”

“We are doing this in many districts and a lot of villages in Punjab and different States. This is a movement that we are trying to start to increase awareness.” he added.

The initiative is a CSR drive that intends to reach Indian citizens with relevant information about the Covid-19 prevention vaccine.

Meanwhile, Sonu has been actively participating in humanitarian causes over past year. He extended support to the migratory workers last year, helping them out to reach homes and making preparation for their travel.

The actor recently extended support to the family of a 45 year old man, who had lost his life due to Uttarakhand glacier burst. His noble gestures inspired many and were likely lauded by politicians, peers and fans and earned him the title of Messiah and a real life superhero.
