Honda WR-V unveiled with revamped look: Check all details
The new generation Honda WR-V additionally allows remote functionality which includes locking or unlocking the car without needing the key. Once the SUV is remotely started, it also offers an automatic cooling feature.

Digital Desk: Japanese automaker Honda Cars unveiled the second-generation WR-V subcompact on November 2. The tiny SUV, which is currently on sale in India as well, was first introduced by the automaker for the Indonesian market. The WR-V SUV has undergone a total makeover by Honda, with new features and appearances. The SUV is now larger than the model offered in India. It also has upgraded safety features and linked car technology.

In terms of appearance, the 2018 Honda WR-V has a bolder-looking grille that is flanked by compact headlamps. The dimensions of this SUV are 4,060mm long, 1,780mm wide, and 1,608mm tall. Additionally, it differs from the WR-V offered in the Indian market by being 60mm longer, 46mm broader, and 7mm higher. Additionally, the forthcoming WR-V has a 220mm increase in ground clearance. There are two different wheel sizes available for this new Honda SUV, ranging from 16 to 17 inches in diameter.

The interior of the SUV has undergone considerable alterations. The WR-V has dual-tone interior colour schemes and leather seats with red stitching. A digital infotainment screen and a 4.2-inch semi-digital TFT driver display are both located in the centre console. The Japanese automaker has added 60:40 split seats at the rear to boost the boot capacity, which now measures 380 litres, 17 litres larger than the WR-V SUV designed specifically for India.

In terms of powertrains, a 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine is available for the Honda SUV. The engine is capable enough of churning out 121 PS of maximum power and 145 Nm of peak torque. It has around 30 PS greater power and 35 Nm more torque than the type made specifically for India. Unusually, the engine is paired with a CVT transmission.

The new generation Honda WR-V additionally allows remote functionality which includes locking or unlocking the car without needing the key. Once the SUV is remotely started, it also offers an automatic cooling feature.

The carmaker is at the moment assessing the likelihood of introducing the new WR-V in India. The SUV will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, and Hyundai Venue if it is made available.
