Tata Motors likely to launch Harrier EV in 2024: All you need to know

The Nexon EV used Gen I EV architecture, however, the Harrier EV will use Gen II EV design, which is an improvement

Digital Desk: At the 2023 Auto Expo, Tata Motors displayed its Harrier EV. With products like the Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and Tigor EV, Tata Motors has held the top position in the market for electric vehicles. With ideas like the Harrier EV, Sierra EV, and Avinya, Tata Motors is predicted to keep holding onto its lead in the electric vehicle market over the long future.

A large portion of the sheet metal from the Harrier diesel is carried over to the Harrier EV. It now features a new front fascia. The grille has been closed as there isn't a significant air intake requirement. This innovative closed grille is visually intriguing due to its horizontal slats.

It is followed by a bottom grille with several vertical slats to facilitate airflow and cool the batteries. The car also features sensors for front parking. The headlamps' sleek, cutting-edge triangle design is the most obvious distinction between it and the ICE Harrier. Daytime running lights (DRLs) made of LED is smaller and mounted above the headlights compared to the previous Harrier's DRLs.

Additionally, the gasoline tank area will be made more effective, lighter, and spacious. The SUVs resemble their internal combustion engine counterparts in terms of silhouette, but the final production models will almost certainly include more design elements that are unique to electric vehicles. Both of these SUVs need to be upgraded.

The Nexon EV used Gen I EV architecture, however, the Harrier EV will use Gen II EV design, which is an improvement. With a maximum range of roughly 500 kilometres, the battery pack is anticipated to be between 60 kWh and 80 kWh. Estimated maximum outputs of 200 PS and 400 Nm, respectively, are the maximum power and torque. That criterion of 10 seconds to reach 100 km/h will be met is incredibly unlikely.

The Born family of SUVs from Mahindra and the British-built XUV700 Electric will be released soon, and the Harrier EV twins will have to compete with this electric attack.
