Digital Desk: The Mughal Gardens in New Delhi's Rashtrapati Bhavan were titled "Amrit Udyan" by the Central Government on Saturday. 

In keeping with the concept of 'Amrit Mahotsav,' which marks the 75th anniversary of India's independence, the Central government renamed Mughal Gardens Amrit Udyan. 

"On the occasion of the commemoration of 75 years of Independence as 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,' the President of India has given a common name to the Rashtrapati Bhavan gardens as Amrit Udyan," stated Navika Gupta, the deputy press secretary to President Droupadi Murmu.

President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the Amrit Udayan on Sunday, January 29, and it will be open to the public for two months, from January 31 to March 26. The garden is usually open to the public for a month, from February to March when the flowers are in full bloom.

According to Navika Gupta, in addition to the two-month public viewing period, the government intends to keep the garden open for viewing by particular groups such as farmers and the differently-abled. 

Every year, the Mughal Gardens are open to the general public for a month. The Mughal Gardens include Rectangular, Long, and Circular Gardens, as well as the Herbal Garden, Musical Garden, and Spiritual Garden.
