    Award-winning author Nilotpal Mrinal 'raped' UPSC aspirant, case registered by Delhi police
    In her complaint, she mentioned that the author raped her for 10 consecutive years under the guise of marriage. 

    Digital Desk: Delhi Police filed an FIR against Sahitya Akademi Award-winning author Nilotpal Mrinal after a 32-year-old UPSC aspirant charged him of raping her. 

    Reportedly, the case was registered by the victim in the Timarpur Police Station area. In her complaint, she mentioned that the author raped her for 10 consecutive years under the guise of marriage. 

    According to PTI, the woman said in her complaint that she met the accused in 2013 and eventually built a friendship with him.

    Based on the complaint, an FIR was filed against Nilotpal in north Delhi under IPC sections associated with rape and causing harm. According to a senior police officer, the incident is still being examined and till now, the police didn't arrest the author. 
     
    In her complaint, the woman described an incident in which he allegedly abused her and beat her up after her eye surgery. "I began to cry... He then forced himself upon me... I cried, but he raped me and then left. He came the next day and began to ask sorry. He also promised that he would marry me," the FIR stated. 

    Moreover, she added that the author called a senior police officer in Madhya Pradesh to threaten her. 

    According to a Hindustan article, the woman is from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. She relocated to Delhi and lived in rented apartments for almost ten years and has been preparing for the UPSC exam in Mukherjee Nagar, North Delhi.
