Black Ink Attack: Rakesh Tikait beaten with a mic, thrown ink at the face

Moreover, visuals also show that the chairs are thrown around as unrest flared in the place.

Digital Desk: Today, at a news conference in Bengaluru, farmer activist Rakesh Tikait was attacked with a microphone; following this, ink was thrown at him.

In the viral video, a man was seen nearing Tikait and beating him with a microphone positioned in front of him. After that, another man throws ink at him. Further, as the farmer leader's supporters rushed to protect him, chaos ensued. Moreover, visuals also show that the chairs are thrown around as unrest flared in the place.

Tikait, a leader of the Bharatiya Kisan Union and the face of the farmers' movement against the now-defunct agricultural laws, had held the press conference to discuss a covert operation in which a Karnataka farmer leader was allegedly recorded begging for money.

After the ink attack, Tikait criticised the BJP-led state government for not providing enough protection for the event. "We were holding a press conference when some people arrived and began assaulting us with the microphones set up. It is the failure of the Karnataka government and police. It was a plot that needs to be looked into," he said.
