    Digital Desk: Six persons died after a private helicopter carrying Kedarnath pilgrims from Phata crashed on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, there were six passengers and a pilot on the helicopter. The administration team left for the site for relief and rescue efforts.


    "Six people died in the helicopter crash in Phata," Abhinav Kumar, Special Principal Secretary to the chief minister said.


    Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia tweeted that the ministry is in contact with the state government and is continually monitoring the situation.


    "The helicopter crash in Kedarnath is extremely unfortunate. We are in touch with the State government to ascertain the magnitude of the loss, and are constantly monitoring the situation," Jyotiraditya M Scindia tweeted.


    Smoke was seen rising from the crash location in images shared by news agency ANI.
