    Eknath Shinde, the leader of the Shiv Sena, has provoked a serious political crisis in the western state by setting up camp in Assam with a sizeable number of party MLAs.

    Digital Desk: Hours after opting to resign amid criticism from the Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde, Uddhav Thackeray left the chief minister's official bungalow in south Mumbai for his family's home at Matoshree in the Bandra area.

    Uddhav Thackeray and his family members left his official mansion while his supporters sang, "Uddhav tum aage badho, hum tumhare saath hain."

    Mentioning that some party MLAs were working to remove him, he said they might have expressed their displeasure to him instead of travelling to Surat. Thackeray stated that if "even a single MLA" were against him, it would be a shame for him.

    In response to the uprising, Thackeray said he had no ambition to serve as chief minister but was more eager to see if it would enable the return of another Shiv Sainik to the post.
