Moreover, a puja will be performed in Vadnagar's Hatkeshwar temple for the long life and good health of Heeraben Modi.

Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited his mother, Heeraben Modi, in her Gandhinagar home on Saturday (June 18) to mark her 100th birthday. On the occasion, the PM washed her feet and sought her blessings.

Moreover, a puja will be performed in Vadnagar's Hatkeshwar temple for the long life and good health of Heeraben Modi.

During his visit to Vadodara later in the day, the Prime Minister would meet roughly 4 lakh people, including beneficiaries of different government schemes. The event will take place at Sardar Estate at the Leprosy Hospital. Notably, PM Modi will visit Gujarat for the second time this month.

In Gujarat, he had said earlier on June 10 that the BJP coming to power was an opportunity for social service. He also laid the foundation stone for over Rs 3,000 crore projects.

The PM reflected on his time as the state's chief minister, saying that it was an honour to serve as the state's chief minister for so long but that there had never been such a large event in the tribal area before.

"Today, Bhupendra Bhai and Gujarat BJP chief C.R. Patil inspire confidence and enthusiasm in the people, resulting in more than 5 lakh people appearing in front of me.  My colleagues have done what I couldn't," he said.

The Prime Minister arrived in Ahmedabad for a two-day visit and was greeted by Governor Acharya Devvrat, chief minister Bhupendra Patel, and others.

Meanwhile, the Gujarat Municipal Corporation (GMC) has withdrawn its declaration that a road in the state capital would be named after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother, Heeraben Modi.

On Wednesday, Hitesh Makwana, the mayor of the BJP-run civic body, stated that it had chosen to rename a road in Raysan village 'Pujya Hiraba Marg' so her life can inspire the future generations.
