    Presidential Election 2022: NDA nominee Draupadi Murmu to file her nomination today

    While Murmu will submit the paperwork on Friday, PM Modi will likely be the first proposer. The other proposers will include several top BJP leaders and leaders from other parties.


    Digital Desk: NDA nominee Draupadi Murmu will submit her nomination papers on Friday to run for the July 18 Presidential election. Murmu met with BJP president JP Nadda, Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi upon her arrival in the nation's capital on Thursday. 


    Along with the other NDA partners, including Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, and Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United), Murmu has received support from the YSR Congress, headed by Jagan Mohan Reddy.


    Jharkhand The Mukti Morcha, which governs Jharkhand in a coalition government with the Congress, is anticipated to back the NDA candidate for the position of President of India.


    Meanwhile, Droupadi Murmu, the NDA's presidential candidate, has asked for everyone's support for the next election. She will launch her campaign on June 25 to win the support of the political parties to get elected as the country's first-person. 


    While Murmu will submit the paperwork on Friday, PM Modi will likely be the first proposer. The other proposers will include several top BJP leaders and leaders from other parties.


    "Met Droupadi Murmu Ji. Her Presidential nomination has been appreciated across India by all sections of society. Her understanding of grassroots problems and vision for India's development is outstanding," PM Modi said in a Tweet. 


    In challange Murmu, the opposition has selected former Union minister Yashwant Sinha for the post of President of India. On June 27, Sinha will submit his nomination paperwork.


    On behalf of the opposition parties, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh confirmed Sinha's candidacy on June 21.
