Digital Desk: Chairperson emeritus of JSW Steel, Savitri Jindal, has ascended to become India's fifth richest person, surpassing Wipro's Azim Premji, according to the latest report from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Jindal's current net worth stands at an impressive $25 billion, edging past Premji's $24 billion. This shift in rankings positions Jindal at the 61st spot globally, while Premji follows closely at the 66th position among billionaires worldwide.

Just two years ago, Azim Premji held the third spot among India's wealthiest individuals, trailing only behind Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. However, a significant 42% decline in Wipro's share value over the past two years has contributed to a decrease in Premji's overall net worth.

In stark contrast, Savitri Jindal's fortunes have seen a remarkable 87% surge in the same period. As the chairperson emeritus of JSW Steel, Jindal has diversified investments across various sectors, including power, cement, and infrastructure. JSW Steel alone has contributed nearly 30% to her current net worth, with additional significant contributions from JSW Infrastructure, Jindal Steel & Power, and JSW Energy.

As of the latest rankings, Mukesh Ambani continues to lead as India's wealthiest person, boasting a net worth of $92.3 billion and securing the 13th position globally. Gautam Adani closely follows as the second richest Indian, with a net worth of $85.3 billion and the 14th spot globally.

Shapoor Mistry of Tata Group holds the third position among India's richest individuals, with a net worth of $33.8 billion, ranking 40th globally. The founder of HCL Technologies, Shiv Nadar, secures the fourth position in India with a net worth of $31.6 billion and the 45th position globally.

It's worth noting that Tesla CEO Elon Musk retains his position as the richest person in the world, with an astounding net worth of $223 billion.
