If someone knows a name when you refer to 'Tata', it's Ratan Tata, a man of inspiration, humanitarian outlook, and the former chairman of Tata Group.
Interestingly, after 142 years of British control, the Tata Group acquired Tetley, the most significant teabag brand of the former British Empire.
Such a long history of serving and providing help for the nation's people indicates Tata's dedication towards humane aspects rather than filling up capitalist coffers.
On December 28, 1937, Tata was born in Mumbai in one of the wealthiest families of the time and now. His great grandfather, Jamsedji Tata, was the founder of the Tata group. His grandmother Lady Navajbai raised him in the lap of luxury at Tata Palace. Tata later flagged his move to become the Chairman of Tata Industries and effectively led in a broad array of reformations.
Under his leadership and guidance, Tata Consultancy Services went public, and Tata Motors was placed on the New York Stock Exchange, providing it international prestige and honour.
During his ownership, the company marked the launch of India's leading truly Indian car, 'Indica'. The car was the boosting figure of Tata. In 2000 Tata's food division acquired tea firm Tetley, for GBP 70 million. And, the list of achievements for Tata continued till now.
Notably, even after being born to a rich family and having bucks in the backhand, Tata being a capitalist has always reflected more of his humanitarian thoughts. He has stood out as a medium of fewer flashlights and more digging ways to make his nation a better place.

One cannot skip Tata's part and contribution during the 26/11 attacks. He was standing unarmed and was watching and helping victims outside the Taj Hotel. This incident has showcased his generosity and leadership. He highlighted his kind gesture by personally visiting the families of all the 80 employees who were killed or injured. He left no stone unturned to grant support and relief to the victims and even asked the families and children what they needed him to do.
Living a bachelorette life, Tata is preoccupied with nothing sophisticated. He lives around his books, dogs and CDs as his campaign. He hardly comes into the spotlight and loves his privacy, which is why he shuns the media.
Tata and his excellence got recognized by the nation much earlier. In the year 2000, he was acknowledged with Padma Bhushan by the government of India. He was also conferred with Padma Vibhushan in 2006, and the list is long.
With great courage, strength, humanity and simplicity, Tata paved a long way and made the nation a better place to live in.
