Mahindra Scorpio-N cross 1 lakh booking within 30 mins, sets news record
The Scorpio N beats the previous record set by the XUV700, which on October 21 began accepting reservations and logged 100,000 unit bookings in 57 minutes.

Digital Desk: Mahindra & Mahindra recorded a total number of 10,000 bookings for the Scorpio-N within 30 minutes of the reservation period at 11:00 am on Saturday, translating to an ex-showroom value of Rs 18,000 crore, or almost $2.3 billion, the company stated in a statement.

Potential customers vented their anger and frustration on Mahindra's social media accounts and also targeted Anand G. Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group, alleging that the company was taking its customers "for a ride" because they were unable to take advantage of the "introductory pricing" due to the technical issue that followed the booking rush.

According to the company, this is the fastest booking they have ever had for any car model. "The Scorpio-N recorded 25,000 bookings within one minute of booking commencement. Customers' enthusiasm for the all-new Scorpio-N has been amazing," the statement read.

The Scorpio N beats the previous record set by the XUV700, which on October 21 began accepting reservations and logged 100,000 unit bookings in 57 minutes.

Deliveries of the Scorpio N will commence from September 26, 2022, onwards.   By December 2022, over 20,000 units of the all-new Scorpio-N are expected to be delivered, with the Z8L variant receiving priority. By the end of August 2022, Mahindra will let the clients know when they can expect to receive their order.

There was a brief issue with the payment gateway provider, but the booking website handled the massive influx of orders well. According to a statement from Mahindra & Mahindra, each customer will have their proper place in the order sequence and that their time stamp prior to payment was properly recorded on the booking platform. As a result, the first 25,000 customers will be given consideration for introductory prices based on this sequence.

Only the first 25,000 bookings are eligible for the variants' promotional prices. The costs for subsequent reservations will be in accordance with the costs in effect at the time of delivery. Mahindra will still accept bookings for the models online and at dealerships.
