Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asks government to ‘admit truth’ on China

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asks the government to ‘admit truth’ on the Chinese occupation near the border row.

New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi once again raised questions against the ruling government on the China issue. The opposition leader attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government over handling the border tensions with China.

Moreover, the Congress leader accused the government of negotiating India’s territorial integrity, a charge denied by the Centre.

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the decision to repeal the new farm laws. Following the news, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday targeted the government, stating the truth of “Chinese occupation” should also be revealed now.

The truth of “Chinese occupation” should also be admitted now, Gandhi tweeted in Hindi. The Congress leader has been asking the government over the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China, particularly after the eastern Ladakh standoff.

India and China on Thursday agreed to operate the 14th round of military talks to reach the purpose of complete ease in continuing friction points along LAC in eastern Ladakh.

The eastern Ladakh border standoff between the Indian and Chinese militaries erupted on May 5, 2020, after a frantic encounter in the Pangong lake regions. Both sides gradually improved their deployment by rushing in tens of thousands of soldiers and huge weaponry.

Both sides currently have around 50,000 to 60,000 troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the sensitive area.
