Golaghat: As AICTE rejects Golaghat Engineering College’s recognition, 92 of the enrolled students’ seems to be in a dark patch as the college faces recognition as a certified technical college as per AICTE norms.
In a letter of rejection sent by AICTE to the higher education technical department of Assam government mentioned 17 detailed reasons behind the college getting rejected including a number of documents which are yet to be submitted by the college. A copy of the same was sent to the Principal, Secretary and the regional officers.

Massive reactions followed by protests by the students of Golaghat Engineering College were witnessed after the rejection letter reached the college.
A student of department of mechanical engineering expressed uncertainty and a dark future of many students including him who were not informed by the college authorities before getting admission to the college.
Another student added that complete details about the college’s present status was not informed before by the officials of the college but it was informed only days after few officials came from AICTE headquarters. “Some problems have aroused during scrutiny. If there are issues, the authorities should take all possible steps to transfer us to another college”, added the student.
It may be mentioned that, the college was inaugurated by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in February 2019.
