Guwahati:
With great zeal and tremendous passion for teaching, former Assam DGP Mukesh Sahay can now be seen teaching mathematics at Sonaram Higher Secondary School located at Bharalumukh in Guwahati.
After serving the state police force for 34 years, the 1984 batch IPS officer Sahay is now busy teaching mathematics imparting mathematics lessons to the students of higher secondary final year students at the Sonaram Higher Secondary School.
It seems, the former DGP is in no mood to get retired and want to continue with his humane gesture of serving the society as long as he can.
Sahay, who retired on April 30 this year, joined the school on May. He takes two maths classes daily. On the last day of his service as the Assam DGP< Sahay shared his interest to teach the students with the school principal.
Last year when Sahay visited the school premises on an official visit, the principal told him that the higher section of the school doesn’t have mathematics teacher, hence imparting mathematic classes to the students become a bit tough as the teachers are called from an out source on contractual bases. It is then that Sahay decided to offer his services to the school once he retires.
Sahay is now popularly known as “maths Teacher” among the faculty members and students and is quite popular for his genuineness and simple living.
Sahay also conveyed the message that he will continue to serve the society as long as he is alive.
The family of Prag News salutes to the never dying spirit of our former DGP, Mukesh Sahay for his heartfelt gesture towards the society.
