    'The Kashmir Files': Union Minister Kiren Rijiju slams Arvind Kejriwal over 'YouTube pe daal do' rem

    The uproar erupted after chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday that BJP MLAs who want 'The Kashmir Files' to be tax-free in Delhi should upload the film in YouTube and make it available to all.


    Digital Desk: The row in the Delhi Assembly over Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's remark on 'The Kashmir Files' appears to be intensifying, with Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswas slamming the Delhi CM for being abusive towards the film. 

    Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju took to Twitter and showed Kejriwal's old tweets in which he declared several movies tax-free in the national capital.

    Rijiju, sharing screenshots of Kejriwal's old tweets in which he announced making films like 'Nil Bata Sannata' and 'Saand Ki Aankh' tax-free in the national capital, said he has no words to say on why Delhi CM refuses to make 'The Kashmir Files' tax-free.

    Likewise, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared one of Kejriwal's latest tweets in which he declared that Ranveer Singh's '83,' a film based on India's World Cup victory in 1983, would be tax-free in Delhi.

    Not only that, but Arvind Kejriwal has been heavily criticized by social media users, particularly the Kashmiri Pandit population, for his comments on the film based on the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus.

    The uproar erupted after chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday that BJP MLAs who want 'The Kashmir Files' to be tax-free in Delhi should upload the film in YouTube and make it available to all.

    During his speech to the Delhi Assembly, Kejriwal also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of exploiting the film for political gain.

    President of the Delhi BJP, Adesh Gupta, slamming Kejriwal, said that his remarks on the issue had crossed all lines of political dignity.

    Meanwhile, 'The Kashmir Files' director Vivek Agnihotri and actor Anupam Kher also criticized Kejriwal over his remarks.
