Guwahati/Mumbai: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s popularity has now reached the doors of the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati after host and Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan asked a contestant about the CM.

The moniker ‘mama’, which Himanta Biswa Sarma earned during his ruthless campaigning for the state elections, has become notoriously popular pan India as can be seen by the prompt answer given by the contestant in KBC.

Bachchan asked the contestant, “By which of these names, is the chief minister of Assam, often addressed in the state?” with options of Chacha, Mama, Tau, and Kaka.

Pictures and videos of the historic ‘Mama’ KBC moment are now spreading rapidly on social media platforms across Assam.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, who emerged as the ‘Chanakya’ of the Northeast region for his skills to manage political works has been successful with managing political campaigns in difficult terrains. His administrative and governance skills has been widely appreciated in the Centre as well.
