Actor Prakash Raj booked for mocking 'Chandrayaan-3'

Digital Desk: Actor Prakash Raj has been booked by police in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka over his alleged post of Chandrayaan-3, India's third lunar expedition, in a social media post.

The officials stated, "A complaint has been lodged against actor Prakash Raj for his post on the Chandrayaan-3 mission." 

The officials further stated, "Hindu organisations leaders filed a complaint against Prakash Raj in Banahatti police station of Bagalkote district and have demanded action." 

On Sunday, Prakash Raj shared a caricature of a man in a shirt and lungi making tea on platform X, formerly known as Twitter. He captioned it: "First view just arrived from Chandrayaan.. #VikramLander #justasking."

After publishing the post, Prakash Raj gained a lot of negative feedback from people who claimed that the Chandrayaan-3 mission was connected to national pride. 

The veteran actor later stated that his remarks were just meant to be a joke. "Hate sees only Hate, I was referring to a joke of #Armstrong times celebrating our Kerala Chaiwala, which Chaiwala did the Trolls see? if you don't get a joke then the joke is on you..GROW UP #justasking"

According to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), the Chandrayaan 3 is expected to land on the moon on August 23.

After the United States, Russia, and China, India will be the fourth nation in the world to accomplish this accomplishment, but it will be the only nation ever to touch down on the lunar south pole.

Three things are the main goals of the Chandrayaan3 mission, to demonstrate a safe and soft landing on the moon's surface; rover roving on the moon; and to carry out in-situ scientific research.
