Aryan Khan drugs case: Bail order out, no evidence of conspiracy, says Bombay High Court

Mumbai: The ‘Mannat’ household seems to be taking a sigh of relief after the Bombay High Court ruled out no evidence of a conspiracy between Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, and Munmum Dhamecha with regards to committing any drug-related offences, in an order released today.

"There is hardly any positive evidence on record to convince this Court that all the accused persons with common intention agreed to commit unlawful act," the court order read.

“Merely because Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha were travelling in the same cruise, that by itself cannot be a foundation for the charge of conspiracy against them,” the court explained the justification behind the bail.

The HC order also said that the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) cannot rely on the alleged confessional statements recorded by the investigating officer as they are not binding.

Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, was arrested in connection with the Mumbai cruise drugs case early in October. After spending almost one month in jail, the Bombay High Court granted him bail on October 28, after a high-end drama and many others being taken into custody on various charges of criminal conspiracies. Aryan finally got to walk out of the jail on October 30, just in time for his father’s birthday.
