In today's patriarchal culture, every home requires a Woman who is willing to strive against all odds, customs, societal norms, and hurdles on her own...
Digital Desk: The official trailer for the forthcoming social comedy film 'Chhatriwali' was released on Friday. Rakul took to Instagram to promote the trailer, which she wrote, "Agar sex education ki padhai reh gayi ho adhoori, usse karne poori #Chhatriwali aa rahi hai! Watch #ChhatriwaliOnZEE5, which premieres on January 20th."
The film, directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar and starring Rakul Preet Singh, Sumeet Vyas, Satish Kaushil, and Rajesh Tailang, is set to premiere on the OTT channel Zee5 on January 20, 2023.
"I am very thrilled that finally, the day has arrived when my fans will be able to catch a peek of this unique character and film that I have been working on," Rakul Preet Singh said about the film. Chhatriwali was that dream project that checked all the boxes, and now that the trailer is out, I hope that our hard work pays off because this film deserves particular attention and credit. In today's patriarchal world, every household requires a Sanya with the bravery to stand alone against all odds, customs, social norms, and hurdles. I hope this character motivates people to find their voice and speak out against unsafe sex and the numerous health implications of not using protection."
She added, "The youth of India represent the vast majority of the population, and educating them on safe sex and sex education is an urgent need, thus I am grateful that Chhatriwali can meet the needs of youth and every one. I have respect and only admiration for the great team behind this extraordinary achievement."
Sumeet Vyas, an actor, stated, "Chhatriwali relieves the awkward silence that exists between Indian parents and children, husbands and spouses, instructors and pupils, and so on. Today's youth is intrigued by the terms "sex" and "intimacy" because such themes are always shrouded in secrecy. Among the congestion of genres and stories, I am grateful that the crew considered and conveyed this uplifting message with remarkable respect. In addition, I am delighted to be working with ZEE5 once more ".
Director Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar stated, "While researching for Chhatriwali, I visited a few rural areas of India and met with students and people. I noticed a taboo surrounding the word "sex," as well as a judgmental attitude on the part of society and pharmacists. What was more surprising and concerning was that, except for a few pockets in major cities, the urban population had the same problem. The urgent necessity to normalise this debate was the driving cause for the creation of this film. I am grateful for RSVP and ZEE5's support in creating and marketing Chhatriwali, which is both fun and educational. And now that the trailer has been released, we are eager to see how the audience reacts to the picture ".
