Mumbai: A FIR has been lodged against actress Shilpa Shetty and businessman husband Raj Kundra in a cheating case. A person named Nitin Barai, who is a businessman registered the complaint.
The FIR was filed on Saturday at Bandra police station. The complainant alleged that in July 2014, Kaashif Khan, the director of SFL Fitness company, along with Shetty, Kundra, and others, urged Barai to invest Rs 1.51 crore into the enterprise to earn a profit.
Barai was assured that the SFL Fitness firm would provide him a franchise. It will also open a gym and spa at Hadapsar and Koregaon in neighboring Pune. However, nothing turned out to grow.

The businessman claimed that the couple took money from investors across the country for their fitness enterprise. But, when he demanded his money of Rs 1.51 crore back, Shilpa and Raj threatened him.
Based on the complaint, the Bandra police registered the FIR under various Indian Penal Code Sections, including 420 (cheating), 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention).
An investigation into the case was underway. Moreover, the couple is yet to react to the complaint.
