Mumbai: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut who failed to appear before the Mumbai police on Wednesday, will appear today and record her statements regarding her controversial statements on the Sikh community.
Kangana Ranaut had made a contentious remark against the farmers protesting against the now repealed farm laws, linking them to a separatist group. She even commented about the Sikh community.
An FIR was lodged against the actress at Khar police station following a complaint by a Sikh organization. Following this, the police booked the actress for deliberately hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community under Section 295-A of the IPC.

Following the FIR, the Khar police called Kangana Ranaut for questioning on December 22, but failed to appear. Then Kangana’s lawyer requested for a second date as she was busy with some personal work.
Kangana Ranaut approached the High Court earlier, demanding the retraction of the FIR filed against her name at Khar Police, Mumbai.
A month ago, Kangana Ranaut had posted about the farmers’ agitation on her official Instagram handle, linking the protest to the Khalistani group. This controversial post generated massive anger among the farmers as well as the Sikh community who demanded the immediate arrest of the actress.

Earlier too, Kangana Ranaut had compared the protesting farmers to terrorists on her Twitter handle, after the protests started receiving international support.
Known widely for her sharp communiqué, Kangana never shirks from speaking her mind. Yet, lately, the actress has been receiving too much backlash for her contentious statements that have now become a common routine on social media platforms.
