Digital Desk: The 14th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) will honor actor Kartik Aaryan with its Rising Global Superstar of Indian Cinema award. According to the festival organizers, the "Satyaprem Ki Katha" actor will receive the awards during the festival's annual gala night on day one, August 11.
The award will be given by the Governor of Victoria, recognizing Kartik's outstanding achievements and his significant contribution to the Indian film industry.
"I am deeply honoured and grateful to the Victorian Government and the festival for this prestigious award and humbled to be celebrated at the 14th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne," Kartik said in a statement.
"It is a tremendous privilege to receive this recognition for my work in Indian cinema. I have always believed in the power of storytelling and the ability of films to touch hearts and inspire minds. I look forward to celebrating the magic of cinema together," the statement added.
IFFM, which will run till August 20, promises to be an incredible celebration of Indian cinema and culture, with over 100 films in 20 languages, discussions, and events for film buffs and the wider community.
Festival director Mitu Bhowmick Lange said that Kartik has a large fan base in Australia, which is delighted to honor him.
"Kartik Aaryan has gained popularity all over the world, particularly in Australia, and the broad range of his performances is admirable. His contributions to the rising generation of Indian film have been extraordinary. In addition to welcoming him to the event, we are thrilled to present him with the Rising Global Superstar Of Indian Cinema Award. The actor will take part in an 'in conversation' session in addition to attending the annual gala night. The festival will screen several of his films, including "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" and "Satyaprem Ki Katha," Lange said.
Kartik is currently in the UK shooting for his upcoming film "Chandu Champion" with director Kabir Khan.
