Digital Desk: A proud moment for Assam, as the internationally acclaimed
Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from London will perform a composition by Assamese music composer Joi Barua. The British Symphony Orchestra's playlist includes "ALAN the Musical" theme song, "Ode to Alan", "Teleportation", "New World Order", "Synthetic DNA", and "The Jungle Song".
The British Symphony Orchestra will perform Joi Barua's composition on July 5. The cooperation with surgeon, musician, lyricist, and speaker Susan Lim, according to Barua, led to the stand-alone composition The Lim Fantasy of Companionship for Piano and Orchestra, which was written to the music for the plot of the musical ALAN.
Susan Lin, on the other hand, had before enjoyed Barua's version of the song "Rava," which was based on Bishnu Rava, and she was captivated by how Barua's music brought new life to the story.
Joi Barua wrote on Twitter, " This 5th of July, several of my compositions will be played by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Cadogan Hall,
London. It is the European Premiere of the Lim Fantasy of Companionship for Piano and Orchestra 🙏 @limfantasy1 A truly humbling experience."
"This provided both the starting point and the benchmark for the epic journey that followed. We were doing everything we could to make this a Broadway musical since that was the eventual goal. While we were driving, the wonderful thought of being a part of this musical in an orchestral presentation crossed my mind. The symphonic sessions were formed in this way," Barua said.
"As a result, the 'Lim Fantasy of Companionship for Piano and Orchestra' gained popularity. In 2019, the London Symphonic Orchestra (LSO) recorded it at Abbey Road Studios in London," he added.
Joi Barua is prominently recognized for his work in Bollywood films including Dev.D, Udaan, Luv Ka The End, and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
