    Digital Desk: Following its box office triumph, the Malayalam film '2018' has reached yet another milestone. We are overjoyed that '2018,' starring Tovino Thomas, has been chosen as India's official entry for the Oscars in 2024. 

    This film, directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, is a moving depiction of the real-life Kerala floods and has become the second highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2023, trailing only 'Romancham.

    A great milestone for Indian cinema, the Malayalam film '2018' has been selected as India's official entry for the Oscars in 2024. The film, directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, is based on the damage wrought by the 2018 Kerala floods.

    The video was an instant hit with the general public since it depicted the hardships that families, pregnant women, elderly people, and others faced during the disaster.

    Ramesh Bala, a trade expert, posted the same on X (previously Twitter) and stated that "#BREAKING: #2018Movie - the Malayalam film will be India's official entry to the #Oscars2024 (sic)."



    On September 27, the Film Federation of India announced that '2018' had been chosen as India's official entry for the Oscars in 2024. The Malayalam film '2018' was a great smash and one of the highest-grossing films of 2023. 

    Kunchacko Boban, Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aparna Balamurali, Kalaiyarasan, Narain, Lal, Indrans, Aju Varghese, Tanvi Ram, Sshivada, and Gauthami Nair appear in Malayalam film '2018'. 

    '2018' is produced by Venu Kunnappilly, CK Padma Kumar, and Anto Joseph under the banners of Kavya Film Company and PK Prime Productions.
