Digital Desk: The defamation lawsuit brought by Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi against actor Jacqueline Fernandez has been scheduled for hearing on January 21 by the Patiala House court.

The defamation case was transferred by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) of Patiala House court to Metropolitan Magistrate Kapil Gupta, who scheduled it for the next month.

On December 12, Nora filed a defamation lawsuit against Jacqueline in a courtroom here. She claimed that Jacqueline had made false accusations against her for "malicious intentions" and to ruin her career.

Since they both work in the same business and come from similar backgrounds, among other things, Nora Fatehi claims that Jacqueline Fernandez tried to maliciously defame her to ruin her career and serve her interests.

She claimed that Jacqueline had created defamatory statements against her to ensure her financial, social, and personal ruin. She also stressed that an artist's career is dependent on their reputation.

According to Nora Fatehi's complaint, Jacqueline had also allegedly made a malicious attempt to exonerate herself of her crimes in a separate criminal case that had nothing to do with her.

Jacqueline Fernandez is a well-known actress who also works in the film industry. The Enforcement Directorate has also named her as a defendant in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar Rs 200 crore money laundering case. that Fernandez manufactured the false accusations to hurt others.

In addition, Fernandez attempted to criminally disparage the complainant to ruin her career and serve her interests because she is a member of the Bollywood industry, according to the complaint made by Nora through her attorney Vikram Chauhan.

Nora claimed that Jacqueline, who is also an actress, falsely accused her of something.

Because I work in the same field, Jacqueline "has unnecessarily dragged and defamed me." She is completely aware that any artist's career and business are entirely dependent on their reputation. This demonstrates unequivocally that the aforementioned imputation was made knowing that it would damage the complainant's reputation, according to Nora Fatehi's appeal.

In the same plea, she had also accused other media outlets of using Jacqueline's quotes to harm her reputation.

In connection to the money laundering case involving con artist Chandrashekhar, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned Nora on December 2.

Both actresses had testified as witnesses in the lawsuit.

The ED had previously attached fixed deposits worth Rs 7.2 crore belonging to Jacqueline, classifying these gifts and properties as proceeds of crime received by the actress.

In February, the ED filed its first supplementary prosecution complaint against Chandrashekhar's associate Pinky Irani, who introduced him to Bollywood stars.

According to the charge sheet, Irani would choose expensive gifts for Jacqueline and then deliver them to her home after Chandrashekhar made the payments.

The ED filed the first charge sheet in this case before Additional Sessions Judge Praveen Singh in December of last year.

Chandrashekhar has spent over Rs 20 crore on different models and Bollywood celebs. Some, though, had refused to accept his gifts.
