Digital Desk: The Odisha Economic Offences wing (EOW) will shortly examine Bollywood actor Govinda in connection with their investigation into the Rs 1000 crore online Ponzi fraud. According to reports, the actor backed the company that was found guilty of orchestrating the pan-India scam.

According to sources, a corporation called Solar Techno Alliance (STA), which has offices in numerous countries across the world, ran an internet Ponzi scheme disguised as bitcoin investment.

The company allegedly solicited deposits from over 2 lakh people across the country without the permission of the Reserve Bank of India, raising a whopping Rs 1000 crore.

Govinda has yet to give a public remark regarding his role in this controversy.

According to a report in the Times of India, authorities at the EOW claimed that Govinda is neither a suspect nor an accused at this time. He will only be questioned since he has commended STA in a few videos, and officials will utilise his statement to try to unearth more clues about the scam.

Govinda attended a huge event given by STA in Goa in July of this year, and an Odisha EOW team will arrive in Mumbai soon to question the actor about his involvement with the organisation.

As per officials, if Govinda's position in the case is restricted to being an endorser of the company under a lawful agreement, he would be called as a witness in the case.

On the work front, Govinda was most recently seen in the 2019 film Rangeela Raja, in which he played a dual character.

While he has stayed away from films for quite some time, he is frequently seen as a special guest on reality shows and events.
