Mumbai: Pawandeep Rajan of Uttarakhand has lifted the Indian Idol Season 12 Trophy and has been rewarded with Rs 25 Lakh while Sayli Kamble and Arunita Kanjilal has been announced as runners-up.
He was announced the winner on Sunday at midnight as the show ran for 12 hours. His family were present and were delighted to see him lift the trophy.
Earlier he told Indian Express in an interview, “Indian Idol is a platform that gives a lot of respect to artists, and the kind of exposure it gets you is unmatched. Through the course of the show, we got to sing so many songs and had the best judges and guests to guide us. The reason I got back in the arena was not my will to win but my quest to learn. And I am thankful that after spending so many months on this show, we are now ready to playback.”
He also said that he was upset about leaving the show after being a contestant for so many weeks and it feels like yesterday when he first stepped into the stage.
Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, The Great Khali, and others were invited as special guests for the finale. Sonu Kakkar was seen as the judge as Neha Kakkar wasn’t present while Himesh Reshammiya, Vishal Dadlani, and others joined Anu Malik in the show.
The contestants were seen paying tribute to the Indian Army, Navy, Airforce, and other defense organizations and were seen performing to classic bollywood songs in the night of the finale.
The show was hosted by Aditya Narayan, Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa
