"She's very...": Ranbir Kapoor vows to never play football with Alia Bhatt

Digital Desk: Ranbir Kapoor is a great football fan and co-owner of the Indian Super League team Mumbai City FC. He often takes to the ground to play friendly matches with his Bollywood buddies. But there's one person he'd never play against. That is Alia Bhatt, his wife.

Recently, Ranbir launched his team's new jersey during an event. During an interaction, he was asked to select the one person he would never want to play football with. The actor replied, "I'll go with my wife, Alia, due to her intense competitiveness. And if I beat her in the game, I know I'll be hearing about it for a long time, and she'll be quite upset with me. So I would avoid playing with her."

The Brahmastra star agreed that even if Alia wins, it will be his loss since she will gloat. "So I'm screwed both ways, I guess," he said.

During the interaction, Ranbir also revealed that football was the only thing that gave him a sense of identity during his youth. He recalls being "below average" at everything in school. "In the fourth or fifth grade, I was below average in everything I did: dramatics, studies. When I joined the high school football team, I finally established an identity and a personality for myself. Sports teach us so much about life. "I remember the first time my name appeared in the newspaper was when I scored a goal for the Bombay Scottish inter-school football team," Ranbir shared.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt married last year at their Mumbai residence in front of family and close friends. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Raha, in November 2022. Alia returned to work only a few months after giving birth to Raha. She is now looking forward to the release of her next film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, directed by Karan Johar.

Ranbir, who was last seen in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, will next be featured in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, which will be released in theaters on December 1.
