Digital Desk: The "Gadar 2" team was celebrating the movie's huge success and the fact that it became the highest-grossing Hindi film ever only yesterday, on September 27.

To pull off the feat, the Sunny Deol-starring film had to defeat Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan." With "Jawan," SRK has dethroned "Gadar 2," though. 'Jawan' was able to surpass 'Gadar 2' in just one day and become the highest-grossing Hindi movie ever in India in just 22 days!

Jawan's performance is unaffected by the new releases, indicating that audiences are still adoring and praising the picture in its third week.

'Jawan,' directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee, was released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on September 7 worldwide. Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Deepika Padukone make special appearances in the high-octane action thriller.

At its core, 'Jawan' is a father-son story that highlights many social and political themes through its hero, played by Shah Rukh. Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover, and Mukesh Chhabra all appear in the film, as does Sanjay Dutt in a cameo.
