Digital Desk: Shah Rukh Khan has topped the list of TIME100 Reader Poll. The criterion was that readers voted for the persons they thought were the best match for a slot on the legendary magazine TIME's annual list of the most influential people. The actors were placed higher than Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, athlete Serena Williams, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. After more than 1.2 million votes were cast, Shah Rukh won with 4% of the vote. If that isn't a reason for celebration we don't know what is.

Iranian women protesting for freedom came in second place on the list. It was followed by health care employees, who received 2% of the readers' votes. Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, came in fourth place with around 1.9% of the vote. With 1.8% of the vote, football legend Lionel Messi was ranked fifth.
