Sunny Leone speaks on pushing past “horrible things” and “earning” her place ahead of Kennedy premiere at Cannes
Additionally, she revealed that Kashyap had told her what he expected of her role, which was unusual for her because no filmmaker had ever done that.

Digital Desk: Actress Sunny Leone is in Cannes for her debut at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. The actor is present for the Kennedy film's premiere with actor Rahul Bhat and director Anurag Kashyap. Sunny feels she has "earned" her spot at the prestigious film festival, despite her apparent "anxiety" about making her debut on the event's red carpet.

Before walking the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival, Sunny sat down for a conversation with film critic Anupama Chopra and shared with her how she never dreamed in her "wildest dreams" that she would advance so far in her profession.

"It's beyond my wildest fantasies; coming to India, participating in Bigg Boss, appearing in movies, and hearing people say such awful, horrific things... I have earned my right to be in this movie by working to overcome those obstacles, seeing the bright side, and attempting to shatter views that people may have about me.I auditioned for this. Someone told you that you are good enough to participate in this, Sunny remarked.

She said, "Only I, my husband, and my team know what I have gone through" and said that her road had "definitely" not been simple.

Since the film's trailer launched, many people have been talking about Sunny's performance in Kennedy. The performer said that she finally had the chance to act and fulfill her character's desires in the film, something she had never before been given the chance to do.

"The difficult part was I wanted, in my mind, to meet up the mark of some of the people he (Kashyap) has worked with, the actors he has worked with," Sunny stated when discussing her experience working with Anurag Kashyap on Kennedy.

Additionally, she revealed that Kashyap had told her what he expected of her role, which was unusual for her because no filmmaker had ever done that.

"A filmmaker has never asked me to give a character what he wants, but he informed me what they are. I had to think of them myself or ask them...I had so many various ideas for different projects, but they never came true due to the "different" expectations of people I worked with, Sunny remarked.

On Instagram, the actor posted photos of herself from the French Rivera with the caption, “Amazing first day @festivaldecannes doing interviews for #kennedy. Thank you @ilya.vanzato for making me feel beautiful.” She kept her look simple on the first day by donning a green gown.
