Kolkata: ‘Kacha Badam’ is a household song now. For the unversed ‘Kacha Badam’ turned out to be the year-ending’s most trending song after a peanut seller from West Bengal was found singing on the road, while selling his peanuts. The song that has now come out in various versions, trending on various social media platforms, is not getting its due.

The creator of the viral song, Bhuban Badyakar, a peanut seller from Birbhum in West Bengal, did not get any returns from the popularity of the song. That is why, he approached police recently to help him claim a share in the profits earned through his creation. “My song is everywhere on the internet, but am not earning a single rupee. I want to copyright my song and get a share in the profits my song is bringing others, he told Zee 24 Ghanta Live.
Meanwhile, Badyakar has taken some time off from his songs and peanut sale. He has been approached by Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Madan Mitra to campaign for the upcoming Municipal Polls in West Bengal. The TMC leader even paid Badyakar Rs 20,000 and promised to continue to support him financially.
