“Anand is a Masterpiece and Should Not be Touched”: Fans Reacted to Remake of the Movie

A fan said that no other actor can play the roles of the movie like Rajesh Khanna, Johnny Walker, or Lalita Pawar in today’s time.

Digital Desk: Bollywood has released thousands of movies in its nearly 100 years of history, but only a few selected movies have made it to the list of masterpieces and among them, ‘Anand’ is the greatest one known for its brilliant concept.

In such a situation, the fans of this film do not like the idea of making it a remake. Many fans have criticized this idea on social media. Fans stated that such a classic film should not be remade. A fan said that no other actor can play the roles of the movie like Rajesh Khanna, Johnny Walker, or Lalita Pawar in today’s time.

The remade of the iconic movie will be produced by NC Sippy’s grandson and producer Sameer Raj Sippy, along with Vikram Khakhar. However, the film’s director and actors are yet to be finalized.

Sameer said, “Keeping in mind the sensibilities of the original film and the emotions attached, I felt the current generation needs to retold the many stories that are so relevant today, especially when there is a great appetite for good content.”

Moreover, on the other hand, producer Vikram Khakhar said, “Digging into our classics, we will find invaluable gems rather than scouting for stories, internationally or regionally. Placing Anand in the post-Covid era, where we emphasize the value of life, will enhance the story of Anand.”

Here are  some of the reactions of the netizens after Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news of Anand’s remake on his Twitter account.

For the unversed, the iconic movie Anand tells the story of Anand Sehgal (Rajesh Khanna), who is diagnosed with intestinal lymphosarcoma. He travels to Mumbai for advanced treatment, where he meets Dr. Bhaskar Banerjee (Amitabh Bachchan). Sehgal’s final days are depicted in this film.
