Mumbai: AR Rahman is super excited as he will be performing live at the Busan International Film Festival on October 9, 2019. The Oscar winning music composer, whose debut production “99 songs” will be screened at the film festival, will give the audience a glimpse of his musical love story in the form of a live performance.
Rahman, who has composed over 100 songs in several languages in a career spanning three decades, is the writer and the producer of “99 songs”. AR Rahman shared the news on social media saying, “Excited to be performing at the Busan International Film Festival this year! #99SongsAtBusan”.
Talking about his performance at the film festival, AR Rahman said that he can’t wait for the audience’s reaction. “I am delighted to be a part of this amazing gathering of film enthusiasts and have the screening of our labour of love at BIFF,” he said.
“99 Songs” is described as a sensual story about art and self-discovery of a struggling singer, who wants to be a successful music composer. It features Ehan Bhat, Edilsy Vargas and Tenzing Daliha in lead roles. The film also features Lisa Ray, Manisha Koirala, composer-drummer Ranjit Barot and Indian Ocean’s Rahul Ram in supporting roles.
Meanwhile, it is on record that this time more than a dozen Indian films have been selected for contemporary World Cinema Sections at the Busan International Film Festival.
