The legendary musician shared a family photo from his daughter’s wedding on his social media account, which also had a portrait of his late mother near the bride and groom’s seating area.
Digital Desk: Music legend AR Rahman’s daughter and musician Khatija Rahman got married to fiance Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed on Thursday (May 5).
The legendary musician shared a family photo from his daughter’s wedding on his social media account, which also had a portrait of his late mother near the bride and groom’s seating area.
“May the Almighty bless the couple .. thanking you in advance for your good wishes and love @khatija.rahman @riyasdeenriyan,” AR Rahman wrote in the caption.
In the photo shared by the great singer, the newlyweds are dressed in color-coordinated attire. Khatija looked royal in the printed off-white outfit, while Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed wore a white sherwani.
As soon as AR Rahman shared the news with his fans, his comment section was flooded with emotional comments from his loved ones.
One of the fans wrote, “Wow...Congratulations, Both,”
“Hearty congratulations and wishing all the very best to this sweet couple,” another fan wrote.
For those who are unaware, Khatija has sung a few songs in Tamil films.
In January of this year, Khatija announced her engagement with entrepreneur and audio engineer Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed. Reportedly, only close family members and friends were present at the private engagement ceremony.
Khatija took to Instagram and shared that her engagement took place on December 29 and was attended by close relatives and friends. “With the blessings of the Almighty, I’m happy to announce to you all my engagement with Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed @riyasdeenriyan, an aspiring entrepreneur and a wizkid audio engineer. The engagement happened on December 29, my birthday, in the presence of close family and loved ones,” she wrote.
Replying to the same, Riyasdeen wrote, “Grateful to have you in my life. Alhamdulilah.”
Moreover, Riyasdeen also shared a post announcing the engagement. “With the blessings of the Almighty, I’m happy to announce to you all my engagement with Khatija Rahman, @khatija.rahman musician, producer & philanthropist. The engagement happened on 29th December, on her birthday, in the presence of close family and loved ones.”
On Instagram, Riyasdeen Shaik Mohammed defines himself as a Live Sound Engineer. He has over 5,000 Instagram followers and frequently provides glimpses of his passion for sound engineering. He is an aspiring entrepreneur and a wizkid audio engineer, according to Khatija. Riyasdeen worked with AR Rahman on the Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone film ‘Tamasha,’ according to reports.
In 2020, Khatija got embroiled in a dispute when author Taslima Nasreen labelled her burqa suffocation. However, Khatija handled the issue gracefully and replied that she was free to wear what she wanted.
