Assam’s Dhing Express Hima Das and popular Assamese and Bollywood singer Angarang Mahanta, popularly known as Papon had a midnight jamming session at the later’s Mumbai residence on Friday.

India’s star sprinter Hima, who recently surprised all by playing the Assamese folk instruments – nagara and taal. At her home in Kandhulimari, Dhing, had hit the right notes this time too. She seemed to enjoy the quick, short jamming session.
The 19 year old athlete was conferred the Young Indian of the Year Award by GQ India on Friday.

She also enjoyed a hearty Axomiya meal at Papon’s residence.

Hima created history after winning gold medal in the women’s 400 metre event at the IAAF World U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland in July and in the recently held Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia where she won one gold medal and two silver medals. With her glorious performances in the sports event, she was awarded the Arjuna Award by President Ram Nath Kovind during a function at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.
