Digital Desk: Lata Mangeshkar is one of the greatest playback singers in the history of Indian music. Her singing talent continues to provide inspirational power to listeners across every era. Through her singing voice music gained life and her everlasting songs met the musical hearts of every music enthusiast. The legendary artist Lata Mangeshkar passed away on 6th February , 2022, at her Mumbai home after the government honored her with Bharat Ratna and declared her the Nightingale of India. Every person recalls her with deep admiration today.
Through her career she recorded more than a thousand songs and her voice could be heard in over thirty-six Indian languages together with some foreign language songs. All the songs she recorded as an artist have gained permanent places in social consciousness. The origins of her musical career and her extraordinary accomplishments deserve our present evaluation.
In 1947, Film producer Vasant Jogalekar put his faith in Lata Mangeshkar she gave her the opportunity to sing a song featured in his film Aapki Seva Mein (Seva) during 1947. Following this, Lata Mangeshkar received recognition after her appearance in the movie Majboor. Lata Mangeshkar earned fame in 1949 when she sang Aayega Aane Wala in Mahal featuring Bollywood actress Madhubala. From then on Lata Mangeshkar's singing voice spread throughout India and the entire world thus marking a new chapter in musical history. People throughout the nation call her the "Nightingale of India."
Because of her musical accomplishments the Indian government gave her both the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1989 and the Padma Bhushan in 1969. She received the highest civilian award of Bharat Ratna in 2001 and the Padma Vibhushan in 1999. She won three National Film Awards together with fifteen Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards in addition to four Filmfare Best Female Playback Singer Awards and two Filmfare Special Awards and the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award while winning numerous other accolades. She made history by making the first Indian playback singing performance at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London during 1974.
