Digital Desk: The Supreme Court slammed producer Ekta Kapoor on Friday for offensive content in her online series "XXX." The bench of Justices Ajay Rastogi and C.T. Ravikumar said: "Something has to be done. You are polluting the minds of the younger generation of this country..."

As per the article, the bench further stated that all individuals have access to OTT (Over the Top) content and questioned her counsel about "what type of choice are you presenting to the people?" The court made these comments in response to Kapoor's lawyer, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, who claimed that although a petition had been filed with the Patna High Court, it was doubtful that the case would be heard anytime soon.

At this, the bench said: "You are polluting the minds of youngsters." Rohatgi, however, submitted that the apex court had earlier granted protection to Kapoor in a similar matter and there is freedom of choice in the country. He further added that content is subscription-based.

The bench stated that it does not like that a plea is moved before the Supreme Court every time, and that a fee will be levied for filing such a petition. It requested that Rohatgi explain this to his client, emphasizing that the Supreme Court works for people who do not have a voice.

The Supreme Court was hearing Kapoor's appeal against arrest warrants issued for allegedly disrespecting soldiers and hurting the feelings of their families in a web series on her OTT platform, ALTBalaji. The bench observed: "We have seen the order and we have our reservations." The supreme court has also left the case on the docket and suggested hiring a local attorney to keep them updated on the progress of the high court hearing.

The warrant was issued by a trial court in Bihar's Begusarai in response to a 2020 complaint filed by Shambhu Kumar, an ex-serviceman, who claimed that "XXX" (season-2) had multiple unpleasant scenes involving the soldier's wife.
