    Odisha: 16 students injured in lightning strike in Kendrapara
    Among the students, two were boys and 14 were girls. They were all sixth- and seventh-graders.

    Digital Desk: In the Kendrapara district of Odisha, sixteen students from a state-run school suffered injuries caused by lightning on Saturday, according to the police. They claimed that when lightning struck an 11 kV electrical line close to Kudanagari Adarsha Vidyalaya in the Garadpur block, the impact was so strong that children who were in a hostel room at the school experienced shocks.

    Among the students, two were boys and 14 were girls. They were all sixth- and seventh-graders. According to the doctor who treated the injured pupils, Prasant Kumar Jena, all of them are currently safe after being transferred to the community health centre.
