    Delhi temperature likely to rise in next few days: IMD

    The temperature is expected to reach 41 degrees Celsius over the next four to five days. 


    Digital Desk: Delhi has been witnessing considerably cooler days over the past few days as the mercury has dropped due to thunderstorms. However, the latest updates of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that the temperature in the national capital is expected to rise in the coming days. 


    As per the data from the Safdarjung observatory, Delhi's base station, the temperature in the capital city soared above 35 degrees Celsius on Thursday, settling at 36.7 degrees Celsius. However, the temperature was still four degrees below usual for this time of year.


    Meanwhile, the meteorological department forecasts a minor rise in temperatures over the following three to four days, with temperatures reaching 41 degrees Celsius, but no heatwave is expected for another week. According to predictions, the national capital will likely see light rain/drizzle by Friday evening, although temperatures will begin to increase on Saturday.


    According to the Met Office, Delhi's maximum temperature on Thursday was 36.7 degrees Celsius, which is four degrees below usual for this time of year. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature was 34.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 22.5 degrees Celsius.


    In addition, on Thursday, Delhi's 24-hour air quality index was 204. On Wednesday, the temperature was 175 degrees. The city had its cleanest air  (24-hour AQI 89) in 134 days on Tuesday. An AQI of zero to 50 is regarded as 'good,' 51 to 100 is considered 'satisfactory,' 101 to 200 is considered 'moderate,' 201 to 300 is considered 'poor,' 301 to 400 is considered 'very poor,' and 401 to 500 is considered 'severe.'
