Digital Desk: Residents in Delhi awoke to a foggy and chilly morning on Wednesday, as the air quality slid into the "unhealthy" category, while air quality in other parts of the NCR has begun to deteriorate. In New Delhi, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was 152, while in Ghaziabad, it was 159.

An AQI between 0 and 50 is regarded as "excellent," 51 to 100 as "satisfactory," 101 to 200 as "moderate," 201 to 300 as "poor," 301 to 400 as "very poor," and 401 to 500 as "severe."

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts cloudy skies with light rain on Wednesday. The forecast was issued a day after the temperature somewhat increased as a result of a break in the relentless rainfall that had been lashing the city for the last week. The cloud cover is likely to clear partly by Thursday, it said.
