Normal to above-normal rainfall likely over north, central & south India in July

Most likely, monthly rainfall for July 2022 will be normal across the nation...

Digital Desk: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted "normal to above-normal" rainfall over sections of the north and central India and most of the south peninsula on Friday.

The IMD also stated that "normal to below normal" rainfall is most likely to occur over east and northeastern India, areas bordering east-central India, and some areas of west south peninsular India.

Most likely, monthly rainfall for July 2022 will be normal across the nation, falling between 94 and 106 percent of the Long Period Average (LPA).

India as a whole experienced "normal" rainfall in June despite significant regional variations in the amount of rainfall experienced in the northeast and dry in the northwest.

"Normal to above normal" maximum temperatures are anticipated over many parts of the nation in July, except for several regions of peninsular India and the foothills of the Himalayas, where "below normal" maximum temperatures are anticipated," IMD forecast for July stated.

"Apart from regions of the west, northeast, and peninsular India, "normal to above normal" minimum temperatures are predicted to prevail throughout much of the nation," it added.
