New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s health condition is now stable and under observation, informed All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) official.
The 89-year-old Congress leader was admitted to AIIMS on Wednesday evening for evaluation of fever.
Singh had been running a mild fever for the past two days, the report said.
Updating Singh’s medical condition, AICC secretary in charge of the communication department, Pranav Jha, Tweeted, “There are some unsubstantiated rumors with regards to former PM, Dr. Manmohan Singh ji’s health. His condition is stable. He is undergoing routine treatment. We will share any updates as needed. We thank our friends in media for their concern.”
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishing him a speedy recovery, tweeted, “I pray for the good health and speedy recovery of Dr. Manmohan Singh ji.”
On Thursday morning, Union Health minister Mansukh Mandaviya visited AIIMS to take stock of Manmohan Singh’s health.
Additionally, wishing Singh a speedy recovery, former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh tweeted, “Praying for former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji’s full and speedy recovery.”
Earlier in April this year, Manmohan Singh was admitted at AIIMS for testing covid positive.
According to the report, Manmohan Singh underwent coronary bypass surgery at AIIMS in 2009. Singh underwent five bypasses after undergoing a bypass operation in 1990 and a stenting treatment in 2004.
