The time frame has been set up by the Assam Police for 2 hours maximum, from 8 pm to 10 pm on Diwali and only Green Crackers are allowed to be sold and purchased in the state.
Digital Desk: The Assam Police issues Restriction for Fireworks ahead of Diwali 2023 which stated that only green crackers is allowed during festival in the state.
Here is list of restriction:
- Bursting of firecrackers is only allowed from 8 pm to 10 pm on Diwali night.
- The time frame has been set up by the Assam Police for 2 hours maximum, from 8 pm to 10 pm on Diwali and only Green Crackers are allowed to be sold and purchased in the state.
- All fireworks containing chemicals are prohibited from being sold and used.
- High-intensity crackers will not be allowed during Diwali this year.
- No firecrackers will be allowed from 10 pm to 8 am.
- There is also a ban on firecrackers during Shat Puja, Christmas and New Year.
- Meanwhile, crackers are allowed for Chhat puja from 6 am to 8 am and on Christmas Eve as well from 11:55 pm to 12:30 am.
