Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate India's largest drone festival, Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022 today (May 27) at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. During the event, PM Modi will also meet with Kisan Drone pilots and startups in the drone display centre. PM Modi will also see drone demonstrations in the open air. The Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022 is a two-day event that will take place on the 27th and 28th of May.
"At 10 AM tomorrow, May 27, I will take part in the Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022. This forum brings together key stakeholders including StartUps with the aim of increasing India`s presence in the sector. I`d urge all those interested in tech and innovation to watch the program," PM Modi tweeted.
"Nearly 1600 delegations, including government officials, foreign diplomats, military forces, central armed police forces, PSUs, private firms, and drone startups, will participate in the Mahotsav. At the exhibition, more than 70 exhibitors will demonstrate various drone use cases," according to Prime Minister's Office.
The Mahotsav will also showcase a virtual award of drone pilot certificates, product launches, panel discussions, flying demonstrations, and the display of a Made in India Drone Taxi prototype, among other activities.
Notably, the two-day festival coincides with the Centre's campaign for widespread usage of drones in a variety of disciplines. Jyotiraditya Scindia, the civil aviation minister, inaugurated two policies earlier this month, Drone Shakti and Kisan Drone, as well as a drone experience studio at NITI Aayog. To encourage the use of drones, the civil aviation minister announced that rates for drone pilot training courses would drop dramatically in the next three to four months, and more institutes would receive the necessary authorization from the aviation regulating body.
