Digital Desk: IAS officer Bharat Bhushan Dev Choudhury was appointed as the chairman of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) on Thursday (August 18).
Dev Choudhury will succeed Dr. Ajanta Nath, who was appointed to the position in June of this year.
The appointment was made by the Governor of Assam, Professor Jagdish Mukhi, through a formal order dated June 27.
Dr. Nath succeeded retired IAS Rajiv Kumar Bora as chairman of the APSC.
It should be mentioned that Dev Choudhury formerly served as deputy commissioner of the Bajali district of Assam from April 2017 to April 2022.
Since then, he has been in the position of secretary for secondary education. In addition, he had previously held the position of APSC examination controller.
