Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has also stepped in and raised the issue with the Sports Ministry.
Digital Desk: After Assam Olympic bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain claimed she was subjected to "mental harassment" due to the absence of her coaches in the Commonwealth village, one of them, Sandhya Gurung, finally received her accreditation on Tuesday.
Earlier, Lovlina vented her rage on Twitter, writing: "Today, with a lot of grief, I want to tell everyone about the continuous harassment going on with me." The coaches who helped me win an Olympic medal are constantly being sidelined, which has significantly impacted my training schedule."
"One of the coaches is Dronacharya awardee Sandhya Gurungji. I had to plead with folded hands to include my coaches in the contingent." she added.
"My training schedule has been hampered just eight days before the start of my event." "My other coach was returned to India," she claimed.
Following her post, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stepped in and raised the issue with the Sports Ministry. The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs raised this issue with the Commonwealth Federation as well.
After a training stint in Ireland, the Indian boxing squad arrived at the Games Village here on Sunday night. But unfortunately, Sandhya Gurung, Lovlina's personal coach, was unable to enter the village due to a lack of accreditation.
Lovlina will compete for India in the 70kg category at the Commonwealth Games 2022, which begin on July 28.
